I WAS JUST WONDERING WHY THERE WERE NO ACTIONS TAKEN FOR TO DIFFERENT PROBLEMS ON 4/24 09 @ DMP. FIRST IT WAS THE #22 PRO MODLITE REPEATEDLY IGNORE TRACK OFF. DURING RACE NOT GOING TO THE REAR, THEN THE 2 YEAR OLD ACTIONS IN THE INFIELD AND THE ISSUE WITH THE OFF. BY THE RULES POSTED THERE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A 2 WEEK SUP.& DQ FOR ON TRACK ISSUE. THEN THERE WAS THE 3D CAR MODLITE DAD THAT PUSHED A 17 YEAR OLD ON GROUND FOR NO REASON TO ME THAT IS GROUNDS FOR ARREST FOR CONTACT WITH A MINOR. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN BECAUSE THEY WERE BOTH THERE FRI. NIGHT, SO I AM ASSUMING THE RULES ONLY APPLY TO WHO YOU ARE PER WALT & BUCK. BECAUSE THERE IS NO REASON TO HAVE SO CALLED RULES AND NOT APPLY THEM JUST BECAUSE OF WHO YOU ARE.

What about Double secret practice. Why do they have practice for only a select few. Why not post it for all to be able to attend.

We do not go to DMP anymore for several reasons:
1. COST: ridiculous prices 2. DELIBERATE ACTIONS: Grandmother almost got hit by a modlite, simply because a driver was pissed and deliberately spun out throwing stones and dirt on her in the PITS. No apologies from this said driver, no DQ', no reprocussions. 3. PRIZE MONEY RETURN: ok, thats a joke in itself.
DMP, years ago was motorcross, turned lonesome pit, turned mud hop, turned lonesome pit, turned DMP, do you see a trend here.

We heard there was a practice Thursday night and we simply picked up the phone and called to verify on Thursday mid-morning to see if it was still happening. We were told there was going to be a practice and it was open to anyone that wanted to come up until 7pm. Simple enough.

Was wondering the same thing about the rules. What's up Walt? I know you read this too! You need to re-post the rules weekly so the people have an idea of what they can and can not as you see fit. Also, make the chosen ones follow them as you see fit, also.

We race modlites and we didn't know anything about any practice being held. How are we suppose to know? We would have liked to have participated too. We have known for quite some time that there are favorates there and we are not one of them. the 22 is definately a favorite and the previous posting is just one example. another favorite is late model 80. you can tell just by the way they talk about him on the loud speaker that he is a favorite. i was asked once by a family member who was out for the nite if he was the owners kid or what. all we ask is that the punishments be consistant and the favortism quit.

I would like to respond to all the negative comments about DMP. If it was not for Walt and DMP there would be many young people with no place to race. I think everyone is losing site of what is important here...THE CHILDREN. Racing is no different from any other sport that is competitive. There will always be controversy. You will not be satisfied 100% of the time with the way things are run. This is no different than baseball, football or hockey. Come to DMP and enjoy a great nite of racing. There is alot of young and old talent there. Spend time getting involved with one of the teams and spend less time on this web site. The kids would love to have you support the track that gives them a chance to grow as a driver and as a person.

it's not a matter of being negative, what do you think all those young kids think when they see a 15 yr old kid throw a temper tantrum on the track and in the infield and tell off an official and not receive the punishment that the rules say he should have? we are just asking for consistantcy and if they are going to post rules, follow them so that everyone understands. The favortism is obvious out there and more each week. This kid knows he can do what he wants and get away with it because he has. We all want a place that younger kids can go to and race, and trust me, we appreciate it, but it has reached the point that you can't just look the other way and pretend it isn't happening. Sorry if you think that is negative, but many of us think that what is happening also has a negative effect on all the kids who aren't in that select few. EVERYONE should have been made aware of a practice and we pay enough money every friday nite to have them at least post the current points on their site. Brokenroad posted that he heard that there was going to be a practice, well the rest of us didn't hear that. I would love to know how you heard about it.

DMP SUPPORTER: IF THE RACE TRACK IS THERE FOR THE KIDS THEN WHY ARE THEY SHOWING THESE KIDS THE IMPROPER WAY THINGS SHOULD BE. THE WAY I WAS RAISED IS TO BE RESPECTFUL,OBEY THE RULES,HONESTY,BUT THE WAY THINGS ARE AT THE TRACK IS TOTAL DIFF. DISRESPECT,NO RULES APPLY {CERTAIN ONES},DISHONESTY,CHEATING, THIS IS NOT THE PROPER WAY TO SHOW CHILDREN THIS WAY IS OK NOT UNLESS YOU WHERE RAISED IN A BARN,OR FROM THE BACKWOODS. RULES ARE RULES EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE TO ABIDE BY THEM NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE. RIGHT IS RIGHT WRONG IS WRONG BUT I GUESS IT ALL GOES BACK TO MORALS

i agree that some of the rules at DMP have not been Properly. Specially in the delmarva charger division. No one besides a select few have followed the rough riding rule. Did anyone see the beating the 89 took by the 27 of sipple and the 6 of long?? it was ridiculous! i mean just pass people clean for gods sake and make it a good exciting race.

We, the DMP team would like to take the opportunity to clear up some confusion and mistakes that were made last winter in the handling and presenting of our year-end Awards Banquet. We ask all of you that were affected to understand that our intentions were never to avoid our obligations. The timing for the event with the holiday season, economy, and Walt's personal health issues, created some difficult times for the DMP staff and Walt's family.
The free party was intended to be enjoyed by everyone, allowing a larger group of racers to celebrate our racing season. As it worked out, a few people were inadvertantly affected by our decision and we would like to personally apologize for it not being handled in everyone's best interest. We apologize for not presenting 2nd and 3rd place trophies to the six junior classes in the Delmarva Series that earned these awards. They are being prepared and we will insure the competitors that earned them will receive them as soon as we pick them up.
We are trying to announce this situation in a professional manner with the hopes that everyone will work with us. We would like to assure our kart competitors that kart racing is a huge part of the DMP overall agenda, and we will continue to provide you with a competitve program We, the DMP team would like to take the opportunity to clear up some confusion and mistakes that were made last winter in the handling and presenting of our year-end Awards Banquet. 3/4 Late Models 14-up* DMP Rules

1. All these negative posts are probably by one person- not even in the 3/4 late models- probably some cry baby who doesnt have a life- no wonder he is "dissapointed" - or whatever....
2. Read the Fu#ken rules!-taken from DMP website! 4. Age Requirements a. 14 years of age and up *Jr Mod Lite drivers under the age of 14 may participate after one year of competition in the Jr Mod Lite Program, at the discrestion of the Race Director.
3. Go buy your own track and run it- or shut up- bunch of cry babies on here!
4. All the people watching in the stands last night had a great time! i was there and talked to them- so 1 or 2 people being upset- shut up or quit-----BYE!

ah, weekend hillbilly, if you are so offended and upset about what is being said on this site, don't come on here. This is exactly what the site is for. why do we have to pay 400 dollars to rent a track if they are providing practices? as far as the rules taken from the dmp site, we HAVE read them and the whole problem is that they are NOT following them. can't you read? we are asking that they do. you basically proved our point. wow. oh, and by the way, I for one AM impressed with an 11year old boy who wins every week racing adults, good for him.

DMP is a dump. They dont follow the rules and its just not fair. There is not that many people no more.I think the rookie and the jr class should run together cause there is not that many cars in there class. And if DMP follows the rules people would start coming to his track and it would be a fun race track.

I'D LIKE TO REPLY ABOUT THE POINTS. THE PERSON STATED THE THE POINTS FUND, WAS WALTS VACATION FUND!! I GUESS THEY DIDN'T SEE WAS WAS GIVEN TO ALL CHAMPIONS AND 2ND TO 5TH PLACE. THATS FOR FRIDAY NIGHT CLASSES AND FOR KARTS. I DONT KNOW WHAT ALL THAT COST HIM BUT I CAN BET IT WAS A HECK OF ALOT MORE THEN WHAT HE TOOK IN FOR THE POINTS FUND. SO IF THATS THE WAY YOU THINK IT IS DONT PAY FOR POINTS AND AT END OF YEAR IF YOUR FIRST THRU FIFTH DONT CRY CUZ YOU DONT GET ANYTHING.

You Know it takes alot to prep that track. I know because I help out there alot of days. My main thing is motocross. And I also see all the hours that Walt and Buck and Randy put in getting the track ready. They start on friday morning and work it all day. They put alot of time out there(Like everyday 8 to 10 hours a day).I'm also in the flag stand with John alot of nights. Not all nights. I can't be there all the time because my son races motox. I'm just learning some of the rules and I'm not sure of alot yet either. But I enjoy being in that stand on Friday nights helping John. If it is a on the track problem, we do our best to fix it. We don't put up with the pushing and shoving. If myself or John see it we do our best to fix it. Two sets of eyes up there are better than one. Myself I'm not going to put up with the bumper car classes. You people put alot of money in your cars and I just can't see why people can't pass clean. Try getting on the motocross gate with 40 guys arcoss and all going for a 30 foot hole. Its Alot harder than 2 cars going into a 60 foot turn.. And most of the time they all make it. We call it racing clean. I'm not here speaking on the money or the rules that I don't know yet. But They are trying to do the best job for everyone. You need to talk to them and see whats going on with your problems. I'm sure they can get this stuff straight. When my job stops becoming fun to do, than I will be watching not trying to stop the bumper cars. I do know this. When you are up there in that stand it is really a hard job. Everything that happens falls back on us. We are not prefect.I hope you people can get this stuff worked out and we can pack the pits again and we will. Gokarts there a whole nother game. I don't know why people dont come and race there like they did. If you race clean and could get along with each other then everyone would have more fun. I hope everyone can come and talk to Walt or Buck and get this stuff worked out. Before you hate something you need to talk to someone first. Not many tracks left out there guys and this is a nice one. Thanks

On the track. When they are racing? We do, the flag stand. You spin out , You cause the yellow to come out. You hit the car in front and spin them. You know you did it. You know you go to the back. Its a no brainer. We do our best up there. Alot of presure on us. But we do the best we can do.We are Not perfect. Nobody is. Its a great show on Friday night and I just wanna keep it that way. How many people wanna punch the TV when pither threw a strike and you know it was a ball. Just trying our best.

mxfreak, maybe you were not there the night that the kid acted like a two year old on the track and the infield? everyone else at the track saw it that night, including the official who was disrespected on the infield and the guys in the flag stand who the boy walked over to and threw his arms in the air at. that is what this original post was all about.

i believe the rule for jumping the start is the driver goes to the back, but that's a rule so i don't expect it to be inforced. i saw the 22 driver get out disrespect the flag stand and push a track employee, but nothing was done, i have seen a grown man push a young driver down yet nothing was done. and as far as jumping starts too many to count but still nothing. i appreciate the fact they do let younger drivers race there, but i really hope they only pick up driving habits and nothing else. because if so there are going to be a lot of snot nosed punk cry babies racing around delmarva in the next few years.
