0n 9/3/2006 I was at Club Milton Speedway and during the feature races that evening I have to say I have never in my life seen so many so called adults acting like children in all my life. I was watching when the temper tantrums startred in the pee wee races I am unsure of what took place in that feature but observed an adult arguing with one of the flagmen these children are learning and it should be fun not scary because their parent are ranting and raving like some lunatic. I was also present when the shoving match started in the staging area during the junior one feature race . I must say I applaud the way T-Buck handled the situation I personally would have ended the races for the evening then and there . I will also say another thing and thats if the adults can't handle drinking beer and watching their children /grandchildren or whomever they are there to see without causing a scene I think they need to just stay away and let those of us that are there to have a good time and enjoy the races alone. this is just an opinion and another thing I need to add my thirteen year old daughter was scared to death because of the antics of an immature jackass who instigated the whole situation . Personally I think this is uncalled for and the person responsible should be publicly humiliated for acting like an ass in public but I am quite sure they would not have acted in such a manner if they were not drinking alcohol . I am not telling anyone they can't enjoy a few beers but If you can't handle what you drink leave the alcohol alone .... 1 Yetti

Yetti19947, Your exactly right That guy in the peewee three feature was an ass.I can say that cause it was me. Your right screaming at the flag man did nothing but show the kids the wrong way to go about it when you've got an issue with a call and I've since apologized to Rob Shirmer And T-Buck for my actions. But having said I was wrong I can tell you there are some other things wrong at all the tracks. These kids are learning every week. But what are they learning? That one time that you get spun you get the spot back and the next time you don't??? We teach our kids to race clean but I get the same question every week from our Boy......Why do the same people run into me every week? ? And were not talking rubbing here either. We just tell him to race him clean, wait and let the flagman take care of it. For the last 6 weeks I've told him that, but he's not buying it anymore. And thats a shame. Every week my boy stands at that drivers meeting at Delmar, Milton or Mardela, and listens to those flag men as if they were gods. but now I think he's lost faith. All I'm Saying is we could use a little more structure. Theres alot of tough talk in drivers meetings about throwing black flags but rarely happens. At least in pee wee. If my boy hit everything but the flagstand Ill pull him myself, not tell him how great he's doing and just get to the front, like a parent last night. I understand that these tracks don't have to run the pee wee class and we are very thankfull for that, but if we going to have this class lets do it right. there was lot of parents in pee wee crying about cheeting.......T-Buck Said again last night its outlaw "Do Whatever" when we go to delmar fri. nights it's legal 100% But at milton it's Game on. So if you come stock and you knew it was outlaw then keep quiet!!!! or take out the plate and strap on a 70 tooth sprocket, maybe a ex-pipe and let the kids race...........

I'm sorry that everyone had to witness what happened last night. It sickens me also, that people can act like that. We put our time and effort out each race for these kids and their families to have fun. We tell them time and time again to show sportsmanship not temper tantrums. It boils down to the parent realizing when their dreams should end and their kids fun begin!!! We tell them not to back talk or bad mouth flagmen but some just can't help themselves. It states in our rules Disorderly conduct will not be tolerated. Therefore the family involved (Father and son), in the junior 1 ordeal, will not be allowed at Club Milton Speedway again.
I also want to say that 99.9% of the race teams and families that come here to race are super people. Hats off to you guys who are here for the fun and memories. I could real off a bunch of names who haven't won all year, but are here every race plugging away and getting better. And when those kids come in after the race they are still all smiles. Those are the winners in life!!

T-Buck, You guys are doing an outstanding job, But just remember you or anyone else will never be able to make everyone happy. The actions of the kids just show how they are raised, some very well, some piss poor. It was great to see old friends and we had a great time and will be back. You have a first class operation and great people that race there also. I think by throwing out a few you will get the mesage out about disorderly conduct. The parents need to realize how they act is just how there kids will act. Keep up the great work see you at the next race. Just so only you know who I am. Think ( Santa)

We will host a pee-wee only day on Sunday Sept. 10th @ 1:00pm. This will allow for as much seat time as possible. Let's show up legal and go from there. We can group them so the sessions will be competitve. Parents will be able to work with child without the pressure of time restraints and so on. If we don't get a good response from this we won't do it again! There seems to be interest so we will try it.
Now in respose to our track talking big about black flags ect ect. I will never black flag a pee-wee driver. They are out there to learn how to drive a kart. You know, on the gas, off the gas, brake, watch the flags and caution lights. Now if some kid begins to use the kart as a weapon( usually because the parent tells them to) we will deal with the kid and parents at that time. Kids at this age have all different skill levels and no matter what are going to hit, bump, spin each other out at times. That's when the parents start in. He/she hit my kid, they did this. Stop and think about these kids for a minute. They are learning from their parents. Parents lose faith in the flagmen then so does child. These kids just want to race. The same kids that bump each other are probably playing together between races while the parents are fussing. I said it before. Parents need to realize when their dream ends and their kids FUN begins. As far as legal, I said try 12-68. They did and then the bellyaching started. This ones cheating or that one did this. So I said I'm not going to tech you guys. Run whatever you want. I just can't beleive that parents are so into the kid winning that they will give the kid more than he/she could handle at that age. Let's show up Sunday LEGAL and go from there. We can group them competitvely so all will have fun. Each group can decide what to run ect.ect. Let's start to teach sportsmanship because the winning will come. Some sooner than others and some may never win, but it's that parent-child relationship of trying to get better each time that will make a winner in the long run. Let's help each other out and not ball each other out. Come on out for a FUN day!!!

T-Buck, you hit the nail on the head with the kids that come out every week and may have never won a race but they keep trying,I for one understand this because my son has done this every week. And you know, he can get out of his cart at the end of a race no matter where he finished and hold his head high because he knows he did the best he could and was not arrogant doing it. That will always make him a winner for us. Our family would like to personally thank you and Susan for all the time and effort you put forth to make this happen for our son as well as the others. On a side note, I feel the ones that are complaining so much about the flag men in the field should maybe go out there and try to flag a race just once to see exactly what it is like before they start throwing stones at the guys that are giving up their time to help our kids!!

If I can let me clarify one thing I was not blaming the parent for acting like a fool in the pee wee class I was just stating that this is where things seem to have started to go wrong on 9/3/2006 . Sitting back,Listening and watching the races like I have for the last couple of years at Club Milton I have seen some very ridiculous actions from adults especially when there child does not run up to their expectations . I overheard one night a parent chastize his child telling him he deserved to finish last the way he drove in the feature .I felt so much like telling the parent to strap on the helmet and race the cart himself but i kept my mouth shut . These children for the most part are wanting to race for fun some have to win and brag about winning some just wanna have fun racing . When racing is fun children are going to want to race but if racing becomes stressful and all about the parents screaming and talking down to their kids the kids will lose interest in racing .If someone kept yelling at me when I was doing my best I would not wanna race either ...

i agree with you. And my daughter is one that finishes in the back every week but you would not know it from the way she acts. We have not run Milton yet we run Delmar but we go to Milton to watch.I think every track has the same problems the dads wanting more and more out of there kids. There kids let them have fun. My daughters have the biggest hearts for racing and its not for me its for them so why don't you let your kids go out there stop running over everybody so they can make you proud let them go out there for them! There are millions of racers out there and only 43 start on Sunday so chances are your kids and mine wont be the one so let them have fun.

Well, first I want to tell you what a man you are for admitting you were the one cussing the flagman. Second, use spell check, before you post! Third, my son is the one you are talking about. I wasn't at the race, but from what I hear it wasn't a one sided incident or incidents. However, I do know that my husband would NEVER lift my son's shield and tell him to take out a Mother Fu**er, like you did. That was heard by many bystanders who are non-partial to the situaltion. I also want to let you know, that 2 weeks ago, when my son failed to take a cool down lap, then in the heat race ran into another karter after the checkered flag, he was parked for the night by his father!!! Did you know that?? You didn't, so don't talk about parents NOT parking their kids. I also want YOU to know that we don't instill running into others into our son, however, we also don't instill cheating either we were doing what was asked by the club owner - RESPECT! You as WE DO need to realize that these kids are 6-8 years old, not 17 - do you know any thing about gross motor development/hand-eye coordination? Apparently NOT! Bumping is going to happen, if you or your kid can't take, I guess you should stay home. We have had our share of being "taken out" - it happens, even in the adult classes. To finish, cause this is making me tired - I am not some racer mom who just started coming to the track. If the rules are going to be "OUTLAW", just be prepared, we WILL show the meaning of "OUTLAW", game on. This is NOT what we want, we have been LEGAL EVERYTIME we have been to Club Milton and want to keep it that way, however, when the decision to race "OUTLAW" is final, we will define "OUTLAW" for you. My family has been in racing for over 50 years, SO I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! To close, Trey, I want to thank you for all the hard work you and your family do to keep Club Milton going. I am sorry you have to deal with this, especially out of the Pee-Wee class. Thanks again!

You know what, it is FAR from over, it has just begun. When you bring my family into this - what family are you talking about, just to clarify. If you are going to throw stones, just want to make sure you are throwing stones at the right people. I hope you know you are opening a BIG CAN of worms up by talking about my family. Please feel free to bring the video on - I want to hear it with my own ears, and so does my husband. What races do you watch? My son just started racing this year, he does not spin out 3/4 of the time. You know something, I will give you my email address whatever and we can talk between us, but KNOW THIS - I will see you Sunday - and you will probably see a few more of my FAMILY members. You are an A**HOLE - let's see if you are man and bring the video, and take my email address.

I also invite you to email me personally. I did not start this whole thing, John Kelly started when he BASHED my 7 year old. As for the knife in the back comment at the end, that was a REAL low blow. So why don't you come from behind your little screen name if you are going to strike with personal comments. No one else has thrown personal blows other than John Kelly and yourself, so who looks like the A**. I am not the one that brought my family into this either, John Kelly did. Maybe you need to get your facts straight. When you decide to come out from your cover, let me know - I would LOVE to talk to you. As mentioned in my prior post, no one had anything to say in regards to the fact that my son was parked by his father for his driving -

Wow, who are the adults here? Why don't you meet in Georgetown @ McDonald's like you are still in High School and hash this out. Keep it out of Milton, the rest of us are there for our kids and enjoy watching the kids..... not the adults act like fools. Stay home if you cannot act any better than this. Don't ruin it for everyone else just to satisfy your own ego.

I did not make the response I made to stir up any drama . I was simply stating a fact about the actions of some of the adults associated with the Junior 1 class not to start WW3 in the pee wee division . If we cant behave as adults how in the hell are we going to hold our children accountable for their actions.. Sorry if your toes get stepped on but sometimes the truth hurts

Well, jeez I feel like I'm back at the track again! I think this all needs to stop! It's supposed to be about the kids and about having F-U-N! Believe it or not, you can have FUN and LEARN while still racing for 1st, 2nd 3rd and so on....keep in mind we still need to teach the kids how to win and lose while still having fun! Trey is absolutely right when he says that the kids whose parents are arguing are most of the time playing at the track in between races and after the races are over. Most of the time the kids could care less about what the parents are even arguing about. I am looking forward to Sunday. I think this will be a really good opportunity for the kids (and parents) to get a lot of practice without all of the drama and excitement that some times happens. Trey--Could you be more specific..when you are saying let's start out "legal" and go from there...I think you should specify what exactly everyone should be running. Even though it is supposed to be outlaw, if you say "run legal", but it's outlaw...that means nothing to some people except to run whatever they want. I want to thank Trey and Susan for all they have done this year for the racers, kids, fans, families, etc. It has been a lot of fun and for fans and families....FREE!! Free fun?? Where else can you get that--not too many places! ;D ;D

OK here it goes. Yes we are a outlaw track. When we first started we did not run pee wees. Interest began to grow so we started a class for them this year. However, I don't think pee wees should be outlaw. Safety has to be first on everyone's mind.
This Sunday I plan on breaking the kids up like this past race. Let the parent decide what group to put their kid in. We had three groups and it seemed to work out good competition wise. We can all evaluate them as the day goes on. Example would be if someone is to slow and in danger we move them down a group. Or if they are to fast and a danger we could move them up. Just a good day to get alot of seat time and be paired with close competition.
Now to define "legal". Everyone should come with 12-68 gear and a 425 plate and a muffler. This will most likley stay this way for the first two groups. Group #3 or the advanced pee wees may decide as a group to remove plate or drop a tooth on clutch or add gear. Whatever it may be, it must be decided as a group. All must have a muffler. There will be people here that can tech if needed. Any plates found to be tampered with (ect. ect.), you won't be allowed back.
Please just come with good intentions. This will be a great day for the kids. Plans are to do a lot of test and tune sessions then a few races. Should be fun for all.

Due to the rain showers we have decided to change the races until tommorrow. That is SUNDAY with the drivers meeting @ 2:00pm. Hopefully the sun will come out and make for a great day of fun and racing. All pee-wees need to be legal. This is what seemed to work best last week, so we will keep it that way. Winners and second place will be checked. (clutch, gear, plate, fly wheel, ect.) See you there!!

Here's how October is shaping up at Club Milton. This Sunday the 8th is pee-wee only day with drivers meeting at 2:00pm. The next regular show will be FRIDAY night the 13th. This is so we can support Georgetown's big two day show on the 14th and 15th. Our drivers meeting will be at 6:00pm this night. Then to close out the month we will be racing on Saturday the 28th. This will be a SPECIAL show. We plan on the drivers meeting being at 3:00pm so we can be done racing by say 7:30pm or 8:00pm. Afterwards there will be a bonfire and a DJ in the pit area. In addition there will be a hayride that will take you to a haunted forest trail in a nearby woods!!! Believe me when I say, this is shaping up to be one HOWL of a night!!
PS. Weather permitting we will be running select dates in November!

We always have pee-wee, rookie, Jr1, jr2, jr3, adult1 and adult2. That covers every age group. We usually break the pee-wees up into two or three groups based on experience. The pee-wees are not outlaw. They must be "delmar" legal. Looks like a good crisp night for some thrills and chills! Come on out.

FALL DOWN SHOOTOUT The weather is chilly but the action at Club Milton Speedway on Saturday October 28th is sure to be hot. I. G. Burton & Co. is sponsoring trophies for all classes and Boonies Sports Bar in northwestern PA has added additional prizes in the older classes for the "Fall Down Shootout". The drivers meeting for this special show will be at 3:00pm. This way we will be finished racing by 7:30 or 8:00pm. After the races we will have a bonfire and a DJ in the pit area as well as a fun hayride that will take you to a nearby woods where you can walk the haunted trail!!! The nights racing will also include junior dashes and adult dashes as well as a junior Shootout and adult shootout for the top feature finishers. The racing will end with our first ever "powder puff race". There has been alot of interest so we will see who shows up for this one. It will be female only!! Must be 21 years old or older with no previous racing experience. So come if you dare, this is going to be one "HOWL" of a night!!!

Sounds great, can't wait!! Just wondering if theres going to be any dash or shootout for the pee-wees?? After talking to a few of the peewee parents we thought maybe a dash of 2006 feature winners might be cool or even a outlaw pee-wee shootout. The kids would love it!!! P.S. Looking for a powder puff ride for #25's pee-wees mom.
