there are several rules in wka that make no sense. signing up and paying money when it rains to get points... having the race go back to the last lap after the white flag.... the thing no one wants to think about is how we know the rules... could it be because teams i have helped have lost races like a NC state race or VDKA race because of the same stupid rule.... i don't agree with it anymore than anyone else..... last week in the heat.... the same thing happen with the #99 and #44.... in which i went to argue the same point on behalf of both of them and no one would even listen. this time it happen to be at the end of the race and made it easier.... and the only thing i did was show the race director the rule #..... i wish i had as much power as some of you thought... we have been beat several times on a MUCH larger scale by the same rules.... i don't write the wka rule book nor do i enforce the rules at any track. i have however learned the wka rules the hard way several times. And on a final note it seems as if friday people were mad at me because i was defending a customer, i would hope any shop would do the same...... but is that what it's really about?? a couple of years ago my tires and customers didn't win hardly anything and no one cared now they had a few good years and it's this big deal about what JLM does..... no one wants to see that i quit my job back in '02 and sold my new car so i didn't have a payment to go live/stay down at Hubbard's race shop to work and travel for FREE to learn from Hammer with no income.... living off of food left over from the previous weekend's racing. We would travel every weekend..... you guys blaming me for the rules or the rain for that matter don't have the slightest clue or the heart that it takes..... the last couple of years with the #09 team it's been the same way going on stretches of 8 weeks... florida to ohio to delaware racing and getting burned out on it... we set out to win a national championship and got lucky enough to do it... this year i wanted to focus on the local dig.... state series went good and i'm learning every friday night a little bit more.... i'll be the first to admit on friday nights i am behind some of the other shops... the gap is closing a little bit. And i'm alot of things but i'm not stupid.. i've been i karting in some way since i was 8 years old... i'm now 25 (well past my prime)..... karting is like a cycle it seems like its a four year cycle actually.... whether it be Tod Miller and Rohn Moon.... Trick/olimpic and phantom..... one or the other is on top for a year or two then someone else takes over for a couple of years.... The same is going to happen again at Delmar..... a couple of years ago H.P. won just about every class and a ton of motors out there..... now that isn't the case.... only an idiot would think they wont be back on top in a few years or even next year if they put the effort in.... competition brings out the best in people... sometimes it brings out the worst.... i guess only time will tell what happens next... but i can assure you this.. while things are good for JLM now... when things go down hill i'll be in the underground trying to claw back to the top instead of blaming any and everything but the 4 tires, kart, motor, driver.... p.s. when a local shop sends me an email and says Gotcha! P***Y at the end (which is why i put the numbers don't lie Gotcha in another thread.) i really don't take it personal but it does make me work harder... thanks.... -JLM

Wow! want a cookie! So jlm5, is it possible that every time that I am leading the race on the white flag lap, that I could just come off turn 2 never turn the wheel, wreck into the fence, caution comes out and I win the race.... cause that is what you are saying could happen the way you make the rule out to be...(you're not as smart as you think you are!)....or is it that you don't want to bring up the fact that you just wanted half of that rule to be looked at or heard! the second half of the same rule you are talking about clearly says that if the caution is thrown on the white flag lap, that all responsible karts involved in the wreck that caused the caution are to be put to the rear of the field & the rest of the karts will be scored to the last lap. us13 karters aren't as dumb as you sometimes try to make us feel!

there was a kart spun out in the middle of the track(the caution).... the leaders went right to avoid the caution and went off the track.... if the two leaders got into each other and spun out without a kart sitting in the middle of the track you would be correct.... the same thing has happen over and over and over again..... ONCE AGAIN... I DON'T AGREE WITH THE RULE ANYMORE THAN ANYONE ELSE...... i showed the rule # and that was it... i didn't argue my point at all.... i actually said i know you are busy now... here is the rule # can we talk about it after the race.............. End of discussion. If the race director would have said we were the caution then it would be over. actually i didn't even get to talk after the races, the race director read the rule and gave us the win... someone else came to tell us before the last race was over. i don't enforce any rules.... ?? i'm sure if you ask the race director he would probably tell you his side of the story..... all i did was defend a customer/dad that doesn't know the rules..... ... why doesn't anyone post their names anymore? everyone is entitled to their opinion i express mine all the time on here... sometimes i'm right most of the time i'm wrong but atleast i post my name...... when we go away to race and get beat by someone faster or a rule you don't see us crying about it....... we just keep working harder to be the best... anyone that has gone to VDKA this year knows we have SUCKED big time... but guess what... this weekend we are going back to capital city.... we are going to keep going until we do better reguardless how much work it takes.... i wish people would take that mentality and do the same around here....... the thing is we probably had the 3 or 4th fastest kart in that race with one of the best drivers.... that is the first thing i told clint when he came off the track and that's not the first time... when the kart is slow i take the blame for it....(that's what i get paid to do)...some of you parents out there should take note.... and us13karter i don't mean to make anyone feel dumb..... -JL

JLM, We all know that hard work, dedication, preparation and determination are the keys to success in racing as well as anything in life. You have proven these attributes. The people you help at the track and before you get to the track know this and appreciate it. I can tell you that our tire program has never been better and we owe all that to you. As far as we are concerned you do not have to try and prove anything on this forum, you prove it where it counts at the race track and on stage at the banquets..Thank you again!! MO

just to add my two cents and opinion on the jr2 feature on friday nite,i was in the tower to pick up the sheets from the race at the time that ernie was in there reading the rule book to make the correct call,i did not see exactly what did happened, all i know is the front 4 karts were in the fence, which by the way would have moved us up to about 4th or 5th in the finishing order,we were junk, dad(me) missed the tires terribly.according to the rules and what ernie said, the correct call was made, the caution had come out for a spun kart in turn two,he called for the caution as the leaders were entering turn 1,the front 4 are to be commended for missing the spun kart.at the point the caution came out the race was over due to it being the last lap,to be scored by the last completed lap, rules are rules. in closing let me add that whenever a call is made on the race track the number1 priority has to be SAFETY for the racers, not who wins or loses, remember this is supposed to be for fun not a big payday. jlm dont let them get under your skin, you know as well as i do a shopping kart with the right 4 tires on it could win, congrates to you and the winner.job well done!! also i dont hide behind some fancy screen name on here,i got enough SACK to post my name

Why do we have any rules? In the start of the year it was said where to complain and not to take it up with the race director and the race directors call is final. There were a couple of people making to much in front of kids( you actually looked like asses ) back to the rule it was said you would be kicked out you have to enforce rules or this will get out of hand. Ernie you did a great job not loosing your head with them in your face. Just my two cents worth. Danny
