Our local racers made a strong showing down on the Daytona dirt!
Jim Tyre Jr., DJ Elzey, Garet Himmighoefer, Evan Dennis, Austin Nichols, Wyatt Corkell, Jordn Justice, Alex White, Nick Brobst, Bryan Brobst, and Horace Wilson all put forth strong efforts during the event.
Congratulations to Alex White for bringing home a big Daytona dirt win!
Congratulations to Kevin Colborn for bringing home 2 Daytona wins on the asphalt!
If I missed any of our local entries, please add them to the thread. They all deserve some recognition!

Congratulations to all that participated at Daytona!
Although I was unable to attend the race, I watched, online, Alex White win his race. What an outstanding driver he has become. I'm sure Brian and Lisa are very proud of both Alex and Brandon. I was fortunate to have them drive for me when they were in the jr. classes. I always knew that if I had the engine right, they would go to the front, and they did. I am very happy when I see or hear that Brandon or Alex had won a big race. Brian works hard as the crew chief, and Lisa as the shoulder to lean on. The White's are an outstanding family. Keep up the good work and have fun!
I did see where Bryan Brobst finished 3rd in his race. Great job! Here is another family who works together in a sport they love. When I was the WKA Race Director, I watched Bryan race on the Natonal circuit. He is a very smooth driver, is always near the front, and I know how much he enjoys racing and how much David enjoys being the setup man. Mom attends the races and supports David and Bryan. Another great family.
Kevin Colborn - What's there to say? Not only a top engine builder, but one of the best drivers in the nation. Impressive. Great job Kevin!
I always said that drivers from US13 track could be competative on the national circuit. It was a very competative series. I encourage drivers to try this race sometime. Nobody has an advantage since the track is only raced on once a year. Go, do your best, learn, and enjoy. If you do well at Delmar, you can be competative at Daytona.
I do not know all the racers and teams that went to Daytona, but I'm sure they learned alot and did their best and enjoyed their time in Florida.
Again Congratulations to all who participated, Good luck in the future.
Walt
P.S. I attended the money race at US13 over the summer. I was nice talking to old friends and competitors and see new faces in the sport. What really impressed me was how well Peewee had prepared the track. The lap times have dropped 1 - 2 seconds from my days. Peewee works hard in preparing the track and takes it personal when it's not right. I hope the Board of Directors and racers appreciate how much time, and effort he puts into the track to ensure a good racing surface. Peewee you have mastered the "Delmar dirt". Great Job!
