MINIMUM AGE RULE TO BE ENFORCED AT GEORGETOWN SPEEDWAY’S EVENTS
STARTING ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9
GEORGETOWN, DE (September 29, 2011) - In the interest of safety,
Georgetown Speedway will be enforcing its minimum age rule for
admission to the pit area. Children must be at least fourteen years of
age to enter the pits. The next event at the historic speedway in
Southern Delaware is set for Sunday, October 9. An appearance by the
Tri-State RaceSaver Series (TSRS) Sprint Cars highlights the special
Columbus Day weekend program.
The Bridgeport Modifieds will be back in action as well with a strong
payday awaiting the victor and the entire field. The winner of the
25-lap Bridgeport Modified feature event will be rewarded with $1,200
if the number of entries in the division exceeds thirty. If the car
count in the Bridgeport Modified class is thirty or under, the first
place finisher will take home $1000. Unaltered GM 602 engines, 604
engines with a Bridgeport Speedway supplied restrictor plate and 347JR
Ford motors with a Bridgeport Speedway supplied restrictor plate will
be allowed to compete in this Bridgeport Modified race. The take the
green money is worth $100.
Rounding out the five-division card will be the Crate Late Models,
Chargers and Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars.
On Sunday, October 9, competitors can begin to enter the pits at 3:00
PM with the spectator stands opening at 4:00 PM. The first green flag
is set to wave at 6:00 PM. General grandstand admission is $20 and no
charge for kids 12 and under. Admission to the pits is $35.
Georgetown Speedway is a 1/2 mile dirt oval located on the northbound
side of U.S. Route 113, just 35 miles south of Dover, Delaware, a
45-minute drive from Ocean City, Maryland, and easily accessible from
Washington DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia.
