Couldn't help but notice hj's deck/body has been widened way out. I know the body rules are pretty much non-existent, but where does it stop? First it was big doors then big sail panels and now it's wider bodies. pretty soon they're not even gonna look like modifieds. Just seems like there needs to be some restrictions on these bodies before it gets outta hand any further

They really need to go buy DIRT Rules for the bodies.

I also agree that the bodies are getting out of hand just by looking at the 85 and 33 they are alot wider across the back than the 16 and 11 which seem to have dirt legal bodies. They need 2 have either dirt legal bodies or go with the panels that nes and some other tracks run.I think if it keeps going with the way it is the car counts will drop more and we will have smaller fields for the special shows, its bad enough that there is no cubic inch limit, now this.Where will it end?

I got a question, what the hell is a flopper body. A flopper body uses air as you enter the corner to actually stick the car to the corner, much like the huge side dams from the 70's. The body actually flops to the left and raises the left front corner to the body to pull the front of the car thru the turn. You really have to see one in use to believe how it works. These are used on high end radio control race cars. It gains you approx. .3 - .4 sec/lap and when you consider most lap times are between 4.5 - 5.5 sec. thats alot.

The "modified" was supposed to be for "Modified Stock Car". For me the modified look ended when the Gremlin, Pinto, Vega, Mustang era ended. Now, those were Modifed Stock Cars!!! Kinda maybe. Burt Q

The modified era ended when Gary Balough showed up with his Batmobile at Syracuse in the Mid 1970's. Since then it has not been the same but, the Big Blocks always have been and always will be my favorite class !!!

I know from my point of view the wider bodies are a help. I ran 4th Saturday night to the 3 cars that have wide bodies and it was all i could do to just keep up. I personally cant afford to widen my body its all i can do to race every week. but at the same time i dont blame them if its what it takes to win thats what you do. Everybody knows that the rules for modified are a 48 rr tire and thats about it. There are more rules but thats the only one they can enforce.(not knocking charlie at all he does what he can with the amount of help he has) I also saw everybody mention the 85 and the 33 but they werent the first one to do it and my body isnt exactly dirt rule either and most of them that run delmar aren't.
