I believe Charley made the call way to early this time!!! Should have gave it a little more time. Now we all have to wait another week. Don't know about you but im going thru racing withdraw!

The pits are apparently a mess. Don't need everybody getting their trailers stuck. Drag strip is iffy for tomorrow because their pits are also a mess.

I too was surprised races were called so early. Weather didn't look promising but WBOC weather guy said no rain until late Sunday. I think races were called in fear of a poor crowd and from a business standpoint I guess it was the right call. From a fans view well, you know. Opening night the crowd was so-so. I saw on the weather where we got less than 1/4 inch of rain.

Talked to someone who works in the pits and they said the pits were a mess. Apparently got soaking rains at the speedway. They were even afraid they weren't going to get the drags in today also. So you can believe it or not, but Charlie doesn't usually cancel. I've seen him run when its been misting, every other track had canceled and nobody was in the stands before.

I think that if it wasn't for the drag strip Charlie would shut Delmar down. It just seems like he cares more about the strip than the dirt track. I don't know just seems like he would put more back into the track then he does. Im sure some will disagree and that's ok, just my opinion.

I have not even talked to anyone and know this? The season opener the pits were pretty bad with water in the pits in the parking areas. Some of the teams could not even part in their personal paid parking spots b/c of the mud. I know everywhere I walked I had to step easy or go around and still had mud everywhere? So with the rain Friday nite & Saturday morning I am sure the pits were a real mess. I know Charlie or pretty much know he would not have cancelled for a little bit of rain even though Sat. nite turned out to be good. If anyone was in the pits on the opening nite knew how bad the grounds were wet & muddy. That I am sure it was why it was cancelled. The haulers would not held up to even park in the pits. Charlie on more than one occasions hauls stones and dirt in when the pits are so wet, but sometimes it doesn't matter how hard you try you can't go against Mother Nature. That is my opinion.

Redbud you totally right, after reading your post I thought about it and I was wrong. I know Charlie had the racers in mind and it probably was the best call...
