OCTOBERFEST FIELDS ARE SET FOR SUNDAY
Hagerstown, Md: Although qualifying for the 23rd Annual Octoberfest 350 at Hagerstown Speedway was delayed due to the track wetness and weather conditions not cooperating, the track provided some excellent qualifying efforts to complete all warm-ups and qualifying for all four divisions in less than four hours.
In the small block modified division, defending event winner Tim McCreadie, 2004 winner Matt Sheppard, Meme Desantis and 2006 winner Billy Decker were heat winners for the 33 entries while J. R. Heffner jumped from his big block after qualifying and then was the consolation winner.
Greg Hodnett, the 2003, 2005 and 06 winner, Cody Darrah, making his first competitive appearance since being seriously injured in a traffic accident in Daytona in February, along with 1991, 92 and 96 winner, Donnie Kreitz Jr. captured the heat wins in the 29 sprint entries while Robbie Stillwagon took the consolation win.
In the 32 late model entries, Dylan Yoder and current World of Outlaw point leader Josh Richards won heats as did 2008 winner Tim McCreadie and Billy Decker, both who also are competing in the modified events, while Larry Wight, also in both modified events, took the consolation event.
For the 27 big block modifieds, Matt Sheppard, the 2004 winner, Bret Hearn, who owns the 1993, 1997, 2001, 08 and 09 events and Billy Decker scored heat wins with the consolation going to Ryan Godown.
Decker (Small Block), Daryn Pittman (Sprint), Josh Richards (Late Model) and Brett Hearn (Big Block) won earlier season features and were guaranteed starters.
The four divisions will line up as follows for Sunday’s $10,000 to win features:

Pit gates open at 8:00 a.m. while grandstand entrance is at 9:30 a.m. Drivers meeting is at 11:45 with the first feature getting underway at 12:00 noon with Big Blocks, Late Models, Sprints, and Small Blocks in order.
