so my sons and i want to build a little lincoln, but the problem is we have a 49 ford sedan and the rules seem to indicate it might not be legal. so we were to get to the pits early last nite so the club could vote on the ford. so good so far, but we ended up lookin at the bay bridge for 90 minutes for a yellow flag due to a wreck on the bridge. got to the track just at seven, d**n. talked a little to some drivers after the race and apprently this was not voted on. really only talked much to greg mitchell, called number off your site, the fords of 49-51 are 114 wheelbase stock, but easy enough to stretch to 115 with the clip. so what do you all think? gonna take a year to do, couple deals to finish first, but want to get started. anyway, thanks for the race y'all put on last nite. me and my sons and friends had a great time despite the heat. p.s. seven of us came from balto area just for little lincolns. your two hours away, not too far at all, just wanna come play!

Man I love to hear that people are building cars for this class....I was hooked on them for years before I could get my act together enough to finally get one ...I think your choice of car will be fine.......BUT just a word of advise.....I paid 4000$ for a really good car turn key deal... 1st time out broke a axle at Georgetown going into turn 3 and ended up bring my brand new car home in a bunch of peices in 3 different trucks...Welp I spent the next 18 months rebuilding that car.......Although I really did enjoy doing that ....hindsight being 20-20 if I had to do it all over again I would buy another car.....Its a whole lot CHEAPER !!!! and alot faster....but thats just me... good luck my brother see ya at the track

i'm sure your right linc77 and i appreciate your advice. my sons and i enjoy building old hot rods and gasser style drag racers, and most of the fun has been in the building so far, maybe because those kinda cars don't involve rubbin and wreckin. but, probably not gonna cure my case of hardheadedness, so we will build and end up with a car worth half of cost, but then again the car i start with is free so.................lotsa room left in the pit to pour money
