JULY 16 2010
I went to the orthopedic doctor today about my right knee. He told me, I have got to get it operated on ASAP, period, it is really messed up and rubbing bone on bone, and that there is no cartilage left between the two joints, and it has already starting to wear one of the bones pretty bad, if fact it is worn so bad that the TIBIA is worn flat and it no more has a cup for the PATELLA or the FEMUR to hold them in place. This is where the expression comes from “TRICK KNEE”. Another words it can pop out at any time and put me on the ground without any warning at all. So Monday I go see the surgeon to set up the operation. I said it was ASAP. He said on a scale of 1 - 10 my knee is a 9 ½ and that the operation should make it about 1 ½, so guess what, another hospital stay and he said it would be 6 - 8 days in the hospital, and probably 10 weeks of healing and rehab. He told me that he could not understand how I walked in to his office the way that knee is worn flat and the amount of pain it must be giving me. Trust me it smarts but maybe soon it will be gone. This has only been going for maybe 18 or so months now. Just think, after awhile I’ll soon be completely overhaul.
The reason the right knee has given out, is that I have had to use it more, because of the left ankle, which by the way, seems to be coming along pretty good now, since I got a new custom fit brace for it on the 30th. June. It’s a pretty neat deal. It was molded to my ankle with the use of a cast, and it will only fit my foot. It is made with carbon fiber for the stability and strength and black leather on the outside for super outer finish look, and a really thin foam liner. It goes half way up to my knee and has laces part of the way and then 2 Velcro straps above the lacing. Well now you are updated again. About the time I think everything is going in the right direction, somebody puts a d**n roadblock up in the way. When I get all done with everything then I'll be just about completely over hauled from top to bottom.
Myself or Bonnie or Dee will keep the board updated on what's going on.
