Sometimes people only see the driver on the track . Not the person thats real . So sometimes I ask around to put positive post throughout this web site ;D . This week I have found another, 13 yr old Derek Magee , I have herd is quite the sportsman and very good academically . Heard he has been playing Football and Baseball for years for his school also driving Race cars competitively all the while maintaining an " A " average in School and making Honor Roll & Honor Society what an IMPRESSIVE and BUSY young man Derek is . Also herd rumors of Derek testing the Famed z14 Modified of Roberts Racing at Delmar! For A possible future driver . Congratulations on your first Mod-lite points championship for Delmarvamotorsports park 2009 and leading the Middleford JR points and on all your victories they are well deserved ! GOOD LUCK IN YOUR FUTURE . "DEREK" THE ALL AMERICAN KID MAGEE !

Derek continues to show how he earned the title "All American" After a hard fought battle between Magee, Weller and Roberts going three wide down the strait away at times and Magee being scored as the winner of the JR class . He turned the spotlight immediately OFF himself and turned it to the first one who crossed the checkered flag, Zac Weller and Derek handed Zac the trophey, at my age I don't know if I'm man enough to do what Derek did . I don't know if it was easy for him but it dose seem to be Derek's style congratulations.

yeah thats a tough one but I understand why he did it. who wants a trophy for a race you didn't win. the track shouldnt have put him in the position to have to do that. why not give the trophy to the winner but give the points to the top jr? it would have sucked for a rookie to win a race with jrs and watch the trophy be given to someone else. is this the first time a situation like this has happened? have rookies won jr races before? havent been to all races so this is the first time ive seen this happen but if middleford finds itself in the same situation next yr with so few cars they need to make decisions on how to handle it. im sure most kids wouild feel the same way 96 felt last nite and hopefully they would also do the right thing.

This is the second time this year this happened Brandon Watkins won the JR race this year. The track gave him 0 recognition no trophy no picture. The JR winner that night was Adam Webber and it was a bad deal for him because that was Adams first win so what started out as a good deal is making complications. I commend the track for trying to spice up the Jr class but now it is a little awkward . I had suggested to the track that they run rookie and JR together and first rookie to cross the line would win. And the first JR cross the line would win there race. This has been many times in racing when car count was low Bridgeport Speedway ran Big Block and Small Blocks together for years and had 2 winners and if the small block won overall they got something extra. But for some reason the track can't see it obviously this entire Rookie group can do it.

Derek congratulations on everything you accomplished this year from winning your 1st Jr race to your 1st Mod- Lite championship all your hard work academically also in School sports. You are a indeed a great talent. I only hope there is a way to get you in a modified sometime next year. I haven't gave up on that trust me. I am doing everything I can its just the economy messing up racing for everyone. If we can't do it hopefully someone can see the talent ON and OFF the track and they will give you a chance. I have been pounding a lot of people in the ear about you and I hope everything works out. GOOD LUCK !

Derek great job in the pro class ! In the heat awesome job as well ! Also in the feature with only running a 600 that probably hasn't been freshened since you started racing you really were up on the wheel driving harder than ever holding of the 3D car for several laps until you bumped the cushion off turn two with the right rear wheel and the car was tosses around but you regained control and came home in 3rd in your 1st Pro mix and match race. You have proven this year you can get it done keep it up .

96fan, you said last yr he "got spun out" and got run over, I have to say that if you are worried about this, you maybe better not watch then. If you can't handle the heat, you shouldn't be out there. I don't see, (and didn't see) him complaining about it and you aren't going to see a champ show where everyone is in line following one another. As someone else has said, this isn't called follow the leader, its called racing and everyone is after that 1st position. Good luck to all the drivers.

Dmpfan!!!! What is wrong I never said he was intentionally spun or named names or anything .Derek dose not know me I am a spectator and I figured if I wrote what I saw last year he would know somebody was watching him and paying attention. As I recall it was only a few laps in the race and it was in turn 3 his car was turned and I think three cars were involved and a car I believe Adam Webber or trent Willey had no were to go and went over Derek.and I think Amanda Whaley missed the accident on the outside don't know what your problem is but get over it and chill out PLEASE we don't need another good post to go Negative. .

96fan, you remember an awful lot of details from a year ago for someone who says they don't know him. besides, based on your last post, sounds like trent and adam were the victims in that race, but at leasst you didnt name names. i was at the race last year and i cant even remember the details of my nephews race just that he didnt do so well. no one has a problem with you wishing luck but next time leave out the "you got spun" and "someone ran over you" lines. this is a good group of drivers, including the 96 kid (who you dont know) and no doubt they will put on a great show. I personally will be rooting for one of the rookies of the year, but wish 96 the best. also, i'm not sure if the chargers are racing in the champ show but I hope so. they are always the best show of the nite. i want to say that since this particular post is about derick magee, congratulations derek on your achievements this year winning the championship of the jrs and also on your school achievements. good job kid!

Ok auntie I DO not know him but I do remember a lot if your nephew drives a mod-lite tell his name and I can probably let you know what happened no matter what I am TELLING the truth I don't know him and he dosent know me but there always will be someone who wants to guess or start something that's the trouble of putting these kids names out there they are exposed to people who just can't be happy like I said I never said anything was intentional but people just have to make a bigger deal out of a couple of words written and twice now I have written that I NEVER said it was INTENTINOL but I'm obviously that's not good enough .I don't know why people have to take one line written and make it something that its not but I guess that's the way it goes sorry DEREK if you read this I guess one sentence "not directed to anyone "will mess up this good post
