The Octoberfest 350 has been Postponed to November 8th and 9th
A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO JESSICA JAMES AND THE STAFF AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY. THEY HAVE RE-SCHEDULED THE TURKEY CHASE WEEKEND TO NOVEMBER 22nd AND 23rd. THIS WILL ALLOW TEAMS AND FANS TO RETURN TO THE OCTOBERFEST 350 ON NOVEMBER 8th AND 9th, AND ATTEND THE TURKEY CHASE WEEKEND NOVEMBER 22nd AND 23rd.
With good intentions, Hagerstown Speedway wanted to finalize the 2008 season and get the 21st Annual Octoberfest in the record books but Mother Nature had other intentions when she delivered the first rain received around the area in a month that lasted from late Friday night until late afternoon.
After making a gallant attempt to wait out the rain by postponing the starting time up to three hours, the track was just so saturated that the event has been postponed.
The entire program will be delayed two weekends until November 8-9 with all times remaining the same. All qualifying will be held on Saturday with Pit Gates opening at 8:00 a.m., Grandstands at 9:30 a.m., with Practice laps beginning at noon. Drivers meeting will be at 11:45 a.m.
Sunday begins with the same times for Pits, Grandstand, Drivers Meeting and feature races will begin at noon with no practice laps. Late models, big block and small block modifieds will run their 100-lap features while sprints will compete in a 50-lap event. All pay $10,000 to win.
Defending winners are Alan Sagi in the late models, Wade Hendrickson, big blocks; Kevin Hirthler, small blocks and Fred Rahmer in the sprints.
