friday night was my first visit to middleford with the new management. first, i was pretty shocked to see that it costs $18 to get in the pits. the 600 micros are the premier class not WOO late models. i could understand a high pit cost if the racers were getting the money back, but i heard from a few people that the 600 micros get $115 for winning, if thats true, that is REDICULOUS.
second, what is the deal with restarts?? that is the biggest joke i have ever seen. you have a car running 5th in one class, jumps the start and is leading going into turn 3. that is not racing, the leader is a sitting duck. you could atleast put a cone on the track and make no passing below the cone. the 600's were passing all over on the restarts. on one occasion, the 2nd place driver got to the lead on a start, clearly completed a lap and he was entering turn 1 when the caution came out, and was then put back to 2nd.
walt, you are a racer and have been involved for a long time, i personally feel that your restart rule needs a little tweaking, it does not exhibit good racing. it comes down to who wants to chance jumping the start the most. i try to support all the local tracks by attending them often, but i for one will not be back until i hear things are better.
