Oval Track Rules
We've had several inquiries about what divisions we will run at DMP. 600 Micro Sprints, 270 Micro Sprints, Jr. Mod Lites, Mod Lites, Pro Late Model/Modifieds (new), and Delmarva Chargers (new, see rules below).
We will also run Karts on Wednesday's. Racing will continue to be on Friday night.

Delmarva Chargers
The intent of this division is entry level racing and is designed for the racer to have fun. The officials reserve the right to change any rule without notification and their decision is final. Our goal is to have a family oriented, inexpensive division, designed to allow our racers to be competitive at this level of the sport. The Competition Committee will determine the eligibility of any driver and their decision is final.
Competing Models
1. Any front wheel drive (FWD), 4 cylinder passenger car (sedan type) is permitted. Must have been available with front and rear seats. No 2-seat sport type cars allowed; no Honda CRX permitted.2. All components not listed in these rules must be factory Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM).3. Station Wagons permitted, FWD trucks permitted.4. Front Wheel Drive vehicles only.5. No 4-wheel drive vehicles, no 4-wheel steer vehicles permitted.6. No mid-engine or rotary engine cars permitted.7. Automatic or manual transmissions permitted.8. Must supply a Chilton Manual or equal with car.
Engines and Transmissions
1. Only totally stock 4-cylinder engines permitted. All bolt on items must remain in stock location and be OEM. No aftermarket or racing parts allowed.2. Clutch and transmission must remain stock for make and model.3. Chilton Manual or equal will be used for all engine specifications and accessories.
Fuel Systems
1. Carburetor or Fuel Injection permitted.2. No turbo-chargers or super-chargers will be permitted. No nitrous of any kind permitted. If nitrous is found in the car an automatic suspension from racing for the entire season will occur for the driver and/or owner.3. Fuel injected engines must be equipped with a fuel shut-off safety switch. Mercury or oil pressure.4. Fuel cell allowed and recommended. Maximum volume of 5-gallons. Must be mounted inside a metal container and centered left to right in the trunk area.5. Fuel injected cars may use stock fuel tank.6. Fuel line may not run through the driver’s compartment.
Weight
1. No added weight is permitted.
Exhaust System
1. All cars must have exhaust that exits the car behind the driver. Exhaust must match stock size. Approved mufflers required.
2. No headers, stock manifolds designed for the make and model only.3. No performance enhancing “traps” or exhaust parts will be permitted.
Bodies
1. Bodies must remain stock. Fenders may not be cut for tire clearance.2. Front wheel wells may be removed, but strut towers may not be cut in any location.3. Headlights and parking lights must be removed. All glass must be removed.4. All bumpers must remain stock. No re-enforced bumpers allowed.5. Only stock firewalls in stock position will be allowed. No holes allowed in firewall.6. Trunk area must remain stock.7. Driver’s door may be hulled for door bar clearance. No more than four door bars allowed per side.8. Must run stock dash. An aftermarket tach, oil pressure gauge and water temperature gauge may be added.9. Screen or mudguard may be added to windshield area only.10. Stock steering column only. Locking mechanism must be removed from the steering column. An on/off switch may be added to the dash, must be within reach of the driver.
Suspension and Brakes
1. Only unaltered stock suspension parts permitted.
2. Unibodies may not be tied together.3. The entire brake system must remain stock. No shut off valves permitted. Car must have brakes on all four wheels, and must operate.4. Maximum camber: 3 degrees. No rear wheel camber allowed.
Tires
1. All four tires must be the same size. Stock wheels only.
2. Offset must be the same on all 4 wheels.3. Only DOT Street tires allowed, no road racing tires allowed, may not be cut or grooved.
Electrical
1. Battery may not be located behind the rear axle. Battery cannot be installed lower than the floor pan.
2. Battery must be mounted to the floor pan with 3/8” threaded rod with a plate under the floor pan. An enclosed battery box is required. Marine boxes may be used as long as the hold down is located inside the box.
Roll Cage and Safety
1. A minimum 4-point roll cage is required. 1 ½” OD, .095” thick. Two angle braces from the top of the roll cage may be connected to the back of the car, no further than the back seat. No bars through the firewall.
2. All cars must have four (4) left side door bars.3. All cars must have a 1” x 2” x .120 wall thickness rectangular tubing rub rail, bolted through the body, running the entire length between the front and rear wheel openings. Must be mounted flush against the body at the height center of tire and each end cut at an angle with no sharp edges.4. An approved 5-point racing harness is required. The date must remain on the harness and can be no older than three years since manufacture.5. Approved aluminum, high back racing seat required. Seat must mount to an approved seat mount. No seat may be mounted to the floor pan.6. Working fire extinguisher required. Must be solid mounted and within the reach of the driver.7. Driver must have a full fire suit, top and pants with an approved helmet. Fire retardant racing gloves are required.
Claim Procedures
1. A Management (Competition Committee) claim is in effect at all times. Claim will be $500 plus the cost of the safety equipment, fuel cell, roll cage, seat, seat belts. Refusal of claim will result in the suspension of the driver, car owner and car for the remainder of the racing season.
Any flagrant rules violation will result in suspension of the driver and/or owner from competition for the entire racing season or permanently at the discretion of DMP officials.
