i know this is not the answer you wanted, but as of right now it is still up in the air.if dmp holds up their end of the agreement as far as the track/facility and safety issues discussed back at the meetings in march than the race will be at dmp.if these concerns are not meet with an acceptable solution then it may be moved back to delmar.this will be discussed at length with the interested parties/representitives of both organizations in the next few days to come up with a solution/answer to this very issue. check back here to look for any news/updates as i will post more when i know more. mike savage kd04

I THINK IT WAS KIND OF FOOLISH TO SIGN A CONTRACT TO HAVE STATE RACES AT A FACILITY THAT HAS NEVER HAD KARTS ON THE TRACK BEFORE.I FEEL AS THOUGH THE SEASON SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN STARTED FIRST AND THE KARTERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ASKED THEIR OPINION . I SEE NO WAY THAT THE TRACK CAN GET SMOOTH FOR KARTS AFTER RUNNING FRIDAY NIGHT. ALSO SAFETY SOLD BE EVERYONE'S CONCERN.

At the club meeting everyone liked the idea. We are working on all the concerns.

Steve,
I don't think anyone would disagree with you concerning safety. I'm more concerned as to the way drivers drive. They can not drive DMP like they drive Delmar. Speeds should be faster and there is no need to try to go from last to first in turn 1 of the intial lap. I agree that the track surface needs to be a lot better then it has been and I'm confident it will be taken care of. There are options for providing additional time to prepare the track and they will be discussed at the board meeting with Walt and Buck.
This is a big move for the Delaware Dirt Series. We have always raced at a single track and many people are uncomfortable and concerned of the unknown(s). I remain confident that it is a good move and although there will be bumps (no pun intended) along the way, with everyone working together to make this track and the Delaware Dirt Series better, we all win.

WALT , I AM ALL ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER, HOWEVER WE HAVE A GO-KART RACING FACILITY ALREADY SETUP WITH SCALES,TECH BARN ETC.
I FEEL AS THOUGH IT NEEDS TO STAY AT DELMAR.
ALSO I WAS AT ALL OF THE MEETINGS JAN - FEB. I DONOT RECALL EVER VOTING ON A DIFFERENT RACE TRACK TO RACE THE DIVISIONALS ON.
THINGS LIKE THIS IS WHY THE CLUB NEEDS TO MEET MORE THAN 2 TIMES A YEAR, I HAVE BEEN A FIREMAN/ENGINEER IN MILTON FIRE DEPT.FOR 21 YEARS. THIS IS ANOTHER LARGE ORGANIZATION THAT HAS COMPANY MEETINGS ONCE A MONTH. ANY DECISIONS ARE BROUGHT UP, DISCUSSED & VOTED ON THAT NIGHT.

My only comment is that the schedule was made way back when, and a lot of people have went ahead and made other plans that don't want to race at DMP or the state race itself. Others just have kept plans because they always run the divisionals either way. And some plus I was under the impression it would be at DMP and I would not be needed to work, and it is Dover weekend!! So my plans are screwed up, not that it matters to anyone. It is just such a late notice that they may run back at Delmar now. Just my thoughts.

I'm sure those concerns are legitimate and should and will be addressed at our meeting with Walt and Buck.
