Peewee or walt or anyone on the board,
In the past if someone turned 15 during the year they could run club races in the adult classes and still be able to run the delaware state series in jr. 3 because the club races were not a wka event. now that we are not running the wka state series is that rule still the same?
thanks, jamie

we are a wka divisional series/non-transferable. it would depend on when the actual birthdate is as far as moving up. walt may be better able to answer. kd04

Jamie,
This would be considered the driver's option year. As for moving up to a sr. class on Friday's and remaining in a junior class on Saturday, that is okay.

Walt, You've stated that its ok for a 15 year old to run Sr classes on fri. night and jr on Saturday, Can you tell me why the rookies are not allowed to run jr-1 on Saturday and return to jr-1 rookie on fri. night. I'm aware there is no rookie at a state race but there are a few of us rookies that would like to run. I think it was mentioned at the meeting in Jan. that it was unfair to the other rookies if someone was capable of running jr-1 state to move back down to rookie and they should just have to stay up in jr-1. Is this still the case?? Thanks, John Kelly

John,
Jr. 1 Rookie class was designed for drivers who have less than 1 year experience and are not ready to compete against the experienced drivers in Jr. 1. We can't allow someone who is too inexperienced to run Jr1 on Saturday if he/she are too inexperienced to run jr 1 on Friday. As for the situation above. This is a driver in Jr.3 who can move up once he/she becomes of age. Moving up on Friday does not affect his/her classes on Saturday. He is not moving from an inexperienced class to and experienced class and then going back. That would be the case for someone going from jr1 rookie to jr1 and then back to jr1 rookie.
