2007 Pee-Wee Rules For U. S. 13 Kart Club Track
Purpose:
Introduce kids and their families to racing at a minimal cost.
The pee wee advance and pee wee rookie class will go out twice a night. They will have a 10-minute time limit in each session. They will go out after practice and after heat races.
This class will cost $25.00
You must race half of the races as a member of the kart club to receive jacket and trophy at the year-end banquet.
Rookie Class:
All drivers will draw a pill at registration to determine line-up. Format:
All karts will drive to the front straightaway and stop.
When karters are ready, the green flag will be displayed (All starts will begin from a stop).
After 10 laps are completed, the drivers will receive the yellow flag along with the checkered flag.
The field will be inverted, realigned on the front straightaway and restarted. The checkered flag will be displayed by itself at the completion of the 20th lap or when the 10-minute time limit has expired, whichever comes first. ALL drivers are winners!!
Advanced Class:
All drivers will draw a pill at registration to determine line-up. Format:
Karters will be lined up on the grid.
Drivers will be paced to the front straightaway and given the green flag (rolling start).
After 10 laps are completed, the drivers will receive the yellow flag along with the checkered flag.
The field will be inverted and then given the green flag.
The checkered flag will be displayed by itself at the completion of the 20th lap or when the 10-minute time limit has expired, whichever occurs first.
Driver:
5-7 years of age as of December 20, 2007
Each driver must fully comprehend flags and race procedures.
Each driver must understand where flag stand is and where all caution lights are
Must be able to control kart in safe manner
Must have all WKA safety apparel
Kart Chassis Specifications:
Must be a WKA legal Sprint chassis
Must have all WKA safety equipment
Pedals must be easily reached by the driver
Tachs will be allowed
Must have front fairing covering at least 50% of each front wheel
Fairing height must not interfere with driver’s vision
No column fairing allowed
Must have an approved rear bumper (outside to outside of rear wheel)
Must have an operating kill switch located on steering wheel
Kart must not move forward when at idle with brake off
Must use transponders
Minimum combined weight of 240 lbs.
The kart must pass a safety inspection before the beginning of the season
Tire Specifications:
Maximum tire circumference is 35 inches anywhere on right rear tire (measured with metal tape measure)
Tire size
LF 450
LR 600
RF 800
RR 800
Maximum tire pressure is 5 lbs for each tire
Fuel and Lubrication Specifications:
Regular pump gas only (no methanol or fuel additives)
Drive Train Specification:
Ratech clutch with a 12 tooth drum Heavy shoes with black springs
Rear axle sprocket must be a 68 tooth.
Engine Specifications
Breather and muffler must remain unmodified
Governor flap may be removed
Chain guard must be WKA legal and must have extension added from guard
to rear bumper
Maximum cylinder bore is .040” oversized
Absolutely no Blueprinting allowed (cross hatch marks will be allowed in cylinder wall only)
Plug wire tie wrap must extend upward 10 inches
Recoil starter must remain on engine at all times
Spark plug is not subject to tech
Purple Horstman .425 restrictor plate required
No lightened parts
No shaving or milling of the piston on the underside or topside and no additional oil holes
No porting of the intake or exhaust ports or other modifications altering size or flow efficiency of the port. No pin pushing
No recess cutting or back facing of the block, spring relief, lifter bore, etc
No 5hp carbs
No matching of carbs or parts contained in carbs
No oversized 5hp style intake gaskets for air passage
No matching of bolts or block for air passage
No offset flywheel keys. Stock B&S only
No lightened flywheels or enhanced flywheel magnets
No metal cams. All cams must be 3.5 hp plastic cams with lifter retainers
No alterations to stock exhaust system. No drilling of holes in front or back of muffler
This class will be limited to a minimum lap time of 18-second. It is the parent’s responsibility to achieve the minimum lap time requirement. The board may alter these rules as necessary at anytime. All pee wee drivers and parents must stay after the drivers meeting for their own meeting. This non-points class.
