any chance of starting the state races that are during the summer later in the day? not so much the heat but for a better track surface to race on during race time instead of the usual pot hole, dry slick/dusty track no one can get a grip on? maybe start around 4 or 5? won't be working through the hottest part of the day in the hottest month of the year. just a suggestion.

Not quite the answer i was hoping to get, but i can see your point. Just thought that since we can't use calcium like other states maybe less sun on the track would help hold it together better, cut back on cautions/time and be a little safer.. as well as cooler.

tires my man, tires.............lol,oh you already know that. good suggestion and it has been brought up at the meetings, and could be a possibility for 1 or 2 events in the dead of summer.the problem being is that what if it gets too late and some classes get cut short?or qualify during the day and race at nite?2 different surfaces on the same day? if i have learned anything from being on the board so far this year is if you have 2 people and 1 rule,1 of the 2 people are not gonna be happy with it........ kd04

on a normal state race the track is best/fastest during mid to end of qualifying.. they mist it then about 3 races into the features the track goes all to hell. starting around 3 or 4 would put the middle of qualifying as the sun starts going down behind the trees near the drag strip, thus holding the moisture longer. With that many laps on the track in July i don't think the surface would be a typical "friday night" track. I'm just assuming about the track though... and it was just a suggestion. I know it has been brought up before, but this forum can be quite a powerful tool in Delaware karting. Thanks for any considerations Mr. Savage =).... see ya at margarettsville this weekend... i presume you are going..
