was told that there are markings up in the parking lot for water and sewer to be put on or through the property. this doesnt sound good. it would be nice if someone in the know would let us know what is going on. i know of one person who was going to buy a modified, but now says that is on hold.

As of last Saturday night, the word was that they will be opening the gates again, that came from a management source. But, I am sure, as with all things, that is subject to change. I would check their website for more information.

This is from Danny Serrano's aarn column about New Egypt Speedway:
As for Fridays, the New Jersey fan better get ready for what the rest of this country gets to see week in and week out…Super Late Models. The admission will be $15 at the front gate. The Late Models will be running every other Friday in conjunction with the Georgetown Speedway (they will each run Late Models on alternating Fridays). The Super Lates will run 25 laps for a very respectable $2,500 going to the victor. The purse will be basically the same as Georgetown’s Late Model purse from ‘06. Miscoski went on to say, “Several drivers are building Late Models to come race with us on Fridays. I’ve received calls from PA, DEL, and MD drivers. I’ve talked with the Pettyjohns, Ricky Elliott, the Lingos and all of the Delaware LM hot shoes. They plan on supporting New Egypt and Georgetown both,” Bill stated.

Not quite sure who Bill is in the comment above but i know for a fact that no one has contacted any of the Lingo's about racing at New Egypt. Not saying we will not race there but it diffiantely will not be week to week.

My cell is ringing like crazy. Apparently there is an article in AARN this week stating it is doubtful that Georgetown will open in 2007. Not sure where that info came from because we are very busy getting ready for 2007. The schedule will be in AARN's schedule edition. We will be open by the time the schedules are published as we will be opening for a practice session on March 31 with the first night of racing being April 6th. Georgetown Speedway will be represented at the I.G. Burton Car Show next weekend. We have received numerous requests for reserved parking places and we are busy processing the requests. Advertising is being sold and special event sponsors are falling into place. Let's go racing! We will be open! CA Baker, Office Manager, Georgetown Speedway
