By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – The November 3rd and 4th Delaware State Dirt Track Championships are rapidly approaching. This year’s extravaganza will consist of a whopping ten divisions and an increase in the winner’s share of the prize money.
Last year saw some exciting racing and some surprise winners. John Willman pulled the big upset in the Big Block Modifieds holding of Danny Johnson for his first ever Big Block win. Duane Howard was equally impressive as he came out on top of a close battle with his weekly Pennsylvania foe, Jeff Strunk in the Small Block Modifieds and David Pettyjohn scored one for the home team as he got his first Delaware State Dirt Track Late Model Championship win by holding off invader Darryl Hills in a wild 50 lap affair.
Action starts on Saturday, Nov. 3rd Gates open at 9 a.m. with timed hot laps for the Small Block Modifieds at 11 a.m. plus Little Lincoln Vintage hot laps. Heats for the Small Blocks will begin at 12 noon followed by consolations.
