When did late models start running 18 laps instead of 20? I guess since Hertrich was sponsoring the race they had to help Hill win.

ami, it's not only the late models getting cheated out of laps, it's all classes. I have watched this for a long time and it bites my A$$ everyweek. If they are going to put the cars back in previous lap order, then the lap should be run again, therefore if someone passed on that lap, it taken away. As you said there were really only 18 laps that count, and alot can change in 2 laps. The drivers pay to run 20 full laps and we pay to see 20 full laps. Therefore not only the drivers are getting cheated, we are also. But it will probably never change, because Charile will not admit that this is not fair and continue to take our money. Don't forget it's his track no matter who it hurts in the outcome.

AMEN but the ones who didn't support Georgetown have made their own bed. Now Cathell has the power and as he says if you don't like it load up and go elsewhere.

truth, if Georgetown is so much better than DIS why is Georgetown closed. You would probably say because alot of cars did not support Georgetown but truth is alot of cars that went to Georgetown did not go to DIS. My thoughts are they paid more than they should have and the whole thing was not managed properly. In the end they blamed the people who were there for their closing. I would really like to see both tracks open. If DIS has been here this long they must be doing something right.

I would imagine it makes it alot easier when the track is paid in full and you don't have investors. I don't blame Cathell for paying as little as possible and now he can. I think what scared alot of teams away was the competition (Elliott, Pauch, etc...). As far as mismanagement, I agree that played a big part as well, but that didn't make cars stop coming and when they stop the crowds go with them.
