The Springfield Mile USAC and POWRi at Macon LuvRacinRog What a great day of racing, Picked up my brother Dan and we went to the USAC silver crowns on the mile. The most beautiful form of racing there is. Then after we had Cajun shrimp on a stick and the best French fries in the world at the State Fair, we picked up my other brother Terry and went to Macon for the POWRi Midgets. All the guys from the fair were there to run the lil 1/5 mile black gumbo track. 141 cars signed in about 18 stock cars and 18 hornets and the rest were open wheel 600’s and full midgets. By not running the big cars (mods and LM) the track stayed perfect all night. 4 wide racing all the time. Put this Illinois weekend on your list for next year. POWRi at Lincoln Speedway on Friday night, The “Big Cars on the Mile” they also ran Modifieds and Sportsmans. Then a short trip to Macon to see the POWRi again and back to the mile for the ARCA race on Sunday. Start planning NOW for next year.
