I was at d.I.s. Last nite and couldn't help but notice how heavy/tacky the track was. As a result of that, I thought the racing was pretty much follow the leader, one groove racing. Now I know there was some passing, but I have to say that these guys put on a much better show when the track is a little slick. Seems like when the tracks heavy, you take the driver out of it and just rely on who has the most h.p. under the hood. There were more tore up race cars last nite than there was in the first two months put together. I would think with the car counts at a season low and the economy down like it is that mr. Cathell would do whatever it takes to help out the racer rather than destroy everyone's cars and motor programs. Track is rough when heavy and hard on motors. I for one would like to see it a little slicker and put the driver back in it, not just drive in, turn it and stomp the gas. If I wanted to watch drag racing, I'd go to drag strip. Seems like the b.b. And super late model races were who got down the straightaway the best, that's not dirt track racing. Jmo

I agree and my opinion...they shouldn't make modlites go first. It's really hard on those cars. Surprisingly they went 15 laps without a single caution last night.

First everyone is complaining about the dust and dirt. Now the complaints start about the track being too heavy! I don't care either way as long as the racing is good. Last night there was at least one lead change in every fearure I think. About 3 or 4 weeks ago they ran every feature with only one total lead change for all the features so I guess my vote is for the heavy track !!!

The track being heavy isnt a bad thing. The racings still good. The only problem is how quick it gets rutted up. When the tracks rough like that they should grate it and let the small cars go first. Like the modlites and the chargers. Cause their cars cant take it after the big cars put wide ruts in it. After they get off the track will basically remain untouched and the big cars will still have a fresh track to run on.
