I was gratly dissappointed Sunday night. Hardly any of the locals supported Georgetown and because of it, the car counts were pretty low. Now the LM's were all locals except for a couple, but the Crates were awful. There were probably five local crate mods and they only had twelve crate LM's all together. That's why Jay James said he's gonna start running his program down here and bring his guys. They're gonna keep the LM's but ditch the crate late models. You guys complain about that place, but Bridgeport has had a lot of success and you can't argue with results he's getting. The fans support the track. You guys need to stop your stubborn attitudes and racing for a thousand dollars and get out there and run for a couple or so thousand!

And to ditch crate late models. Just goes to show ya, the people that are in crate late models BRING alot of people but not to a place where it is so uncalled tech.Like ok DIS rules no theses rules no now these rules. So go figure.

"run for a couple or so thousand" we never know what we are running for when we show up... it's really not worth it when you are racing in a cornfield at the end of the night

Put the money in the place that it badly needs or just start pouring footers. Better yet plant some beans

too much money for pit admission.25 at delmar is bad enough!35 bucks a head,10 guys is 350 bucks just to get through the gate. i didnt support it because there were no big block modifieds.if they would run big block mods and super late models on the same night i would be there every show.i just dont care for sprint cars.maybe the next show he would run both classes i guarantee a lot more people would show up on the spectator side, but if they want more local racers he needs to drop the pit price to 25.

I can only speak for myself but I enjoyed the show sunday at Georgetown. I left after the Super Lates because I do not really care for the crates. I did not feel cheated a bit. I was kind of impressed with the fact that the announcer mentioned DIS in a positive way on many occasions and I would assume was not obligated to. The announcer at Delmar has never, to my Knowledge said anything about Georgetown. As a matter of fact, this website does very little to promote Georgetown and the columns written in the local newspapers never mention Georgetown. I attend both tracks as many times as I can to support local racing. Seeing a lot of the comments on here with everyone complaining about both tracks leads me to believe that I will not be surprised when the day comes that we will not have a track on the Eastern Shore to go to for Dirt Track Racing.

We raced at DIS and were ready to run Sunday .....but no big blocks. We went to support Chad Spicer and his family. Buy once again i was shocked at $20 a head in the stands...but the cause made it worth the cost. We also left after the Ricky show in LM. The LM's and sprint's were good and the effort by The James Family is very much appreciated, we will support both tracks !!!! So remember..... if we don't, we may have to drive alot more to get to a track one day. Like a track /promoter or not they are the only reason we have a place to race. Got the chance to talk to one owner and it changed my opinion of him once I heard the passion in his voice about the track preperation and how he is always looking to make it better. Be glad we have two tracks this close and lets all support them to help keep them open and our mouths alil more closed..... Ron Faison team owner.....................

Regarding the condition of the dusty track, I stopped by on Wednesday while they were preparing the surface and offered to donate enough track prep product to keep the moisture in the track and eliminate the dry conditions. Left my card and never heard back from anyone! I too was upset with the cost of $35 pit admission but I new it was for a good cause. I attend quite a few Lucas Oil Series and WoO Late Model races and don't pay much more than that and I can see 30 or 40 cars! I personally asked at least a dozen local SLM teams why they were not attending and the two biggest reasons were pit admission price and track conditions!

That track will continue to be dusty until new clay is put down. And then the management needs to LISTEN to the people that tried to help them with track prep when they took over. Those people only wanted to see the track be succesful. When you dig too deep, you bring up the old clay and have dust problems. You don't need the biggest tractor and disc in the county to do track prep. I'm no expert but I did watch how it was done when I worked there. The track would always be a little sloppy in warm ups but it was great the rest of the night.

I totally agree with Matt. Georgetown is a big track, combine that with rough conditions and you can have a lot of torn up equipment. When Lou & Crew prepped the track you could walk out on the track before hot laps and would think the track was run in so tight that it would be very dry and dusty. But it would surprise you and hold decent moisture. My guess is with the wide turns you can carry good momentum and don't need a soft track to hook up. Just never would dry out as you would expect.

i see they are going to run superlatemodels and big block mods on october10th,so i will definitely be going to support them that day. i talked to some other people and they said they were going. i think they are making a good call by running both classes. just hope they drop the pit prices because i would like to go in the pits but 35 is just to expensive. it should be a good show ,maybe that the points r over at delmar we will have some more local racers there.

THE PRICES TO GET IN TO THE SPECTATORS SIDE IS EXPENSIVE 20.00 PER PERSON IS A LITTLE MUCH. THINK ABOUT THE ECONOMY THE WAY IT IS NOW PEOPLE WANT TO COME OUT AND WATCH WHEN THERE IS NO OTHER PLACE TO GO RACING, BUT NOT PAY AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICE.

Yeah 20 bucks stinks. That said I will be on the top of the 4th turn. Grew up there back in the 70's. Seen many great races. Although I have been to DIS many more times in the last 20 yrs G-town is still MY track. Thanks to the James family for keeping racing alive at Georgetown.

I am also appreciative to the James family for making the effort to at least have some racing at The Georgetown Speedway! I do not mind the $20 admission. The thing that I most want when I spend my money on anything is a quality product. In my opinion The Georgetown Speedway provides a quality product for my dirt racing spent dollars. I would rathar watch one night of racing at Georgetown than 10 nights of racing at any other track that I know of that is still in existance !!!
