I agree...when Jimmy Messick prepared the track it was never like that...Bring in some more clay and learn how to prepare a track...I know it was going to be somewhat dry because of the weather but even when the weather is cooler, the track is the same way...As a fan we will not be back and I think that has something to do with car count.

Thank you again to the James Family for keeping the historic Gedorgetown Speedway open for racing. It is because of you that, at least for now that this great old track is not closed. Anybody that does not appreciate this is just not a true fan of Dirt Track Racing on the Eastern Shore. If we race fans do not continue to support Georgetown and Delaware International we soon find ourselves having to travel off of the Eastern Shore to watch dirt track racing. Again Thank to the James Family!

I agree 1969racing i raced last night and yes it was dry but the track was a blast. People on here have nothing better to do but to get on here and complain. We should all be thanking the James family for keeping Georgetown alive.

Some of these people would've never of survived 1 of the best dirt tracks of all time. Flemington. You actually had to wear goggles because the dust was so bad. We are spoiled down here because Charlie is a mater at preparing a track. If you go anywhere else most of the time your going to get dust. Doesn't bother me, it's a dirt track, I expect it to be dirty.

I meant Charlie is a master at preparing a track.

dustin, you are right about Flemington. I remember the first time I went I think 1975 and we went into the stands and saw a lot of people with goggles and couldn't figure out why, did not take long. But oh the racing. did not take long to forget about all of that dirt on you.

I went there in 87'. I was a kid, but I remember all the dust and it being dirty. But the racing was awesome. It was the Flemington 200 and all the drivers from N.Y., N.J.,PA., DE, and Canada were there. They didn't call it modified country USA for nothing. I went to Selinsgrove in March for the 1st time for the ROC mod race. It was dirty and dusty, but the racing was very good. Like I said we are spoiled having Charlie. Because 99% of the dirt tracks you go to its going to get dusty and dirty.

Georgetown is the best dirt track in delaware. Charlie spends two hours grading the track each night and its rediculous. if the track isn't perfect, so what! Georgetown has better racing and that's the facts.
