Georgetown speedway will roar again on labor day weekend with urc sprints and super late models
GEORGETOWN, DE (August 19, 2009) -
With the summer of 2009 winding down, Georgetown Speedway is being prepped to host another action packed show on Sunday, September 6th. On this special Labor Day weekend program, the Rislone URC Sprint Series will make their first appearance at the Sussex County dirt oval since 1994. The oldest traveling sprint car group was scheduled to make an appearance in September of 2006 but remnants from Hurricane Ernesto washed out the event. In the last URC race at Georgetown Speedway in 1994, Greg Coverdale from Milford, DE was the winner.
The Super Late Models will be in competition as well on the fast 1/2 mile clay oval. Also for the first time at Georgetown Speedway, a “Mix and Match” race will combine the Crate Late Models and the Crate Modifieds. A Smashmasters Demolition Derby completes the lineup of events.
On Sunday, September 6th, the pit gates at Georgetown Speedway will open at 3:00 PM with the grandstand gates opening at 4:00 PM. Warm-ups will hit the track at 6:00 PM. General grandstand admission tickets for adults are $20 with children 12 and under admitted for free. Admission to the pit area is $30. __________________
