it's been a while since I've been to Delmar, but I was there on Saturday.
whats up with these qualifying heats, yeah the LM, and BB Mods ran heats , but all the others just ran for fast time.
that really takes away from the experience for the race fan. it was like watching practice or something. not a big fan of it, in fact my dad said he won't be back he'll make the trip to Lincoln instead.
and intermission was a little long, I realize that turn 4 needed some attention due to the berm, but to totally regrade and water the whole track was IMHO over kill.
with a program like this I can see the stand growing emptier and emptier.
hey also why can they fix the PA system to where you can hear the national anthem.
I don't know maybe it just me, but Delmar Needs to step it up

The track has watered and graded ever sat. night for years. And if you think you get out late on sat nights now, then start having heats for all the classes and you will get out at 3am sunday morning.

they are qualifying sessions. they determine our starting spot by both fast qualifiers and a points inversion. I don't mind it much myself...and as far as the track prep, it makes for a much racier surface for feature time. puts moisture back in the track and grades it back out. it gives racers a little more time for working on their cars, too.

A lot of tracks have gone to that type of qualifying. VMS was one of the first. I'll tell you one thing it saves money for the racer. The way some nights go you may not have many left for the feature if you ran heats. As far as Lincoln. They only run 2 maybe three classes.
