Looking forward to attending the season opener next weekend. I see that the Super Late Models are the feature division this time. I know its really not easy to predict, but how many drivers can we expect to be supporting the program next week? Based on past years, I guess we can expect the stands to have a good crowd, but lack of driver support could doom the season before it starts. Are there enough drivers/cars around to support both Delaware tracks? I went to Hagerstown for the opener last weekend and was shocked and surprised to have 44 Late Model teams there. I know we should not expect anywhere near that many any week here, but my point is that there are cars and drivers out there.

gtown has a better chance to get more cars than delmar simply because of the payouts! Pay the money and they will come...

11super lates 15 each crate class and a butt load of chargers. I'm not wishing any bad luck but I bet it's shut down by 4th of July . The racers can't afford to run 2 nights a week and Charlie is going to get the cars. Test and tune was just a sign of things to come . JMO

If I have to choose just 1 night a week for racing it will be Whatever night that Georgetown is racing. For some reason since the late 1970's local racers have not supported Georgetown but everyone complains about Delmar's payouts, their rules and all sorts of other things. My complaint with Delmar is lack of lead changes in features. Many, many nights they run 5 features (if you count the bumblebees) and have 1 or 2 lead changes total. IT's like a cult following among drivers. Glad that we have local dirt track racing but as someone not involved, just a fan, I can't understand all of the complaining then when another option is given there is no support. Why ?

Little disappointed to see payout for crates has been dropped to $25. We were at meeting and they said it was gonna be $50 to take the green for the crates. Not a good start already.

Here's the deal. For the Super Lates, you'll have the pettyjohns, Donald lingo jr, possibly dale lingo, Kerry king, possibly rob shirmer, Andrew mullins, and ricky Elliott. Hopefully scott and andy hauss will come in support. There may be a couple of others, but I do not see a huge car count for the late models. The local drivers for some reason just don't support it. And especially with the numbers from at the end of last season, I think Delmar might be seeing low numbers as well. I think if they get 14 cars on a consistent basis that would be a good number. Anything above that is a gift.

I love reading all the post about how people think Georgetown is going to close up half way thre the season. But we all know that wont happen because the stands will still be packed tight with people even if there is only 8 or 9 cars per class. Alot of people go to relive there childhood memories and to take there kids to watch racing where they first started watching it at. And also if you dont like the way it is around there then do what charlie says at his drivers meetings there is a big field out frount if you dont like it here then its big enough to turn the truck and trailer around and go home. people think they can get on here post there opinions and think there going to change for them. but ill put money on it they will last the whole year and they will keep racing...
