I hear mixed opinions of the charger drivers all the time. I would like people to throw in what they think of the class and drivers

I enjoy watching that class the most. Its awesome. But i dont understand about the rough driving. Its not nearly as bad as last year but back then no one said a word. everyone just went out and did their thing. Now everytime someone gets a little shove they want someone black flagged. If you dont want to get beat around your in the wrong class. But i wouldnt have it any other way

Several years ago the stands and the pits would clear out before the charges started their feature. This week look at the stands. Everyone stays. The charges put on a great show. Do they beat and bang? Yes they do. Does the crowd love em? Yes they do. No one wants to see anyone getting hurt or spending alot of money to fix their car up each and every week but I think these guys have done a great job this year. Safety always has to come first. I have seen two situations that needed to be addressed and they were addressed with those individuals. You cannot slam into someone while they are sitting in the infield with no restraints on nor can you turn your car around on the track heading in the wrong direction just to cause damage to another competitor. DMP officials do a great job. Just because a driver or a team does something do not take it for granted that the rules were not followed or nothing was done. Many phone calls and conversations are held behind the scenes and that is the way it should be. Most of these are young drivers or are not experienced drivers sitting them out for two weeks does nothing explaining to them what they did and how they could do it better next time is TEACHING them the right way. These young drivers are on a learning curve. DMP is a perfect place for young inexperienced drivers to learn. I hope the car count grows and the number of patrons sitting in the stands grow each week. All of the drivers do a terrific job as well as the DMP staff. Great job !!!

What a cool class of cars! It is like what racing was years ago when they had the "thunder cars" & "hobby cars". This class can race without having to sell the farm!!! Let's keep it clean drivers so this class does not end......if they take away this class, my visits to DMP are over.

Thats what I think when I watch them race, that it's like back in the day the way racing used to be. Love it.

I like them too. I wish we didn't have to wait til the end of the night to watch them, but I guess they would tear up the track if they ran any sooner. My vote is Love it!!

Well at DIS, they claim the mod lites tear up the track but they still alternate the races every week so they don't have to run last. But then again, were talking about DMP where they do what they want to do! "Fair" is something Walt & Buck know nothing about!

That would be nice to alternate race order each week, it would be nice to know you could get out of the track at a decent hour once in a while.

MX Freak I agree with you there is one in every bunch. Administration can we have the reply by the Lady race fan deleted as this site is not for bashing. Delete or remove these kinds of statements so the rest of us can enjoy good conversation. All racers good luck and have a safe and fun event tonight.

The Napa Chargers put on 1 of the best shows I have seen this year. They were into lap 11 or 12 before the first caution came out. I am so glad to see them racing instead of raring. I wish this class got a pay out though. They spend money on parts for their cars, the gas to get there & put in the cars & the fee to get in the pits. I wish the winner could at least get 25 or 30 dollars for winning. Maybe they could have a business or someone put up the money each week. I know I would be willing to do it a couple of times a year. How about guys, anyone interested? If so, maybe I could talk to Paige & see what is involved to do something like this. At least it would be advertising for a business because it could be announced each week on the speakers.

Does anyone know what is going on with the points for the Chargers. Did they continue from the previous owners or did they start new points as of July 3rd?

I like the chargers. When I worked in the flag stand when Walt ran the track it was a great view. Lady Race Fan don't be mad at Walt and Buck. They don't even run the track now so don't be bashing them and unless you know them personally like i do you wouldn't say one negative thing about them. They are like my family. Now that Paige is running the track the races alternate like DIS does so its all fair just the NAPA Chargers do tear a lot of stuff up specially the track. That's why they run them last every week.

Yes, they do tear the track up & anything else that gets in their way! I think the class is starting to be to aggressive. Come on drivers race clean!

Hey Cole 946, I posted that comment back in June! I was venting. And yes, I do know Walt on a personal level, not Buck.

This class sounds like it could be fun and a great way to either get started in racing or participate on a budget. My only concern is it sounds like its got some drivers that think its bumper cars. I raced in classes like this and know they don't handle the greatest. And I understand rubbing is racing and give as good as I take but a few drivers just wanting to bang someone for kicks can tear up a lot of cars and turn a race into a joke. I have never been to Middleford but may just have to check it out for myself.

Last night was one of the funnest times i ever raced out there. A lot of people complain about rough riding but theres a big difference between being agressive and being dirty. Personaly i like it to be a little rough. It makes it exciting and puts on a good show. As long as it just doesnt get out of hand.

I have been thinking about how much better the chargers have become in the past few months. They have calmed down a lot. Although there is still some rough riding, (which is what fans like to see), the dirty driving has lessened greatly. They put on a fantastic show week to week. I think now that the class has grown and become much more civilized, that it would be a good idea for them to race at Delmar. I would like some other drivers and fans to back me up on this please. I would love to see them race there. If I can get some responses I will personally go to Charlie Cathell and try to get something going.

WOW! Thats a great idea! You have my support. I would love to go race there. I race at middleford every week and i think it would be a great experience to race at a larger track. It would really feel like we are race cars and not derby cars. I went to Potomac Speedway and watched one race and the 4 cylinder cars were awesome. They never touched with such a larger track and they still put on a great show. It would be the same at Delmar.

The Chargers at Delmar would be awesome. Charlie should at least try it out once. What could it hurt. I went to the last slide for 5 race and only saw 13 cars, when I raced there were at least 30...so he wouldn't lose anything, all the fans and family would come to watch us there so he would end up with even more supporters.

Yes. Back when i raced slide 4 5 it was nothing to have 35 cars. But thats the thing. Chargers are almost as cheap to race. Most of the cars out there came from junkyards like mitchells and dunovans. The only thing thats expensive is the roll cage. And its a lot more exciting and competitive. its the cheapest way to race period. If the cars start running at Delmar it will attract all kinds of people intrested in building one.

Give it up! Be happy with what you have. And with the track that started this for you. DELMAR DELMAR BLABLA ! The cars will not be as exciting the track is too big and now two nights of racing in this economy ! This is supposed to be economical class ! The track is bigger and WAY more rough the crashes WILL BE MORE VIOLANTE ! NOW your talking a totaled car instead of a couple bent fenders ! ARE the roll cages really SAFE for the high speed ? people always want more just be happy at Middleford great racing and its fun to watch I stay to watch at NAPA Chargers at Middleford . At Delmar I might watch once !
