Mid-Atlantic Championship Series Add Gunter’s Potomac to USA 100® Weekend
Indiana, PA (February 15, 2009) The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series is pleased to announce yet another event to their 2009 season, on Friday, August 7, at Greg Gunter’s Potomac Speedway, Budds Creek, MD for the Budweiser Bobby Allen Memorial. This event will front the $11,000 to-win, Ernie Shelton’s 30th Annual USA 100® at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway, Jamaica, VA. Potomac ’s Bobby Allen Memorial will pay $5,000 to-win and $400 to start with the purse offering of $30,000. All drivers attempting to qualify and failing to make the A Main will receive $100.00
The Budweiser Bobby Allen Memorial will be a full MACS program featuring the AlturnaMATS® Time Trails, Heats, the Sunoco Race Fuels 1st B Main presented by Bazell Oil, as well as the Keizer Aluminum Wheels 2nd B Main presented by Big Shot Performance.
The purse for the Budweiser Bobby Allen Memorial 40 will be: 1. $5,000; 2. $2,500; 3. $1,500; 4. $1,200; 5. $1,100; 6. $1,050; 7. $1,000; 8. $800 9. $750; 10. $700 11.$650; 12. $600; 13. $550; 14. $500; 15. $450; 16. $400; 17. $400; 18. $400; 19. $400; 20-24. $400. **All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $100.00.**
Past MACS event winners at Potomac include: Gary Stuhler (’99); David Scott and Jeremy Miller (‘04); and Booper Bare (’05). The average car count has been 42; with the highest being 57 and the lowest being 33
“ Potomac under the guidance of Promoter Greg Gunter and the promotional effort of General Manager Denise Hollidge are pushing forward to modernize their facility. The improvements already made are notable and have eclipsed $100,000”, indicated Jeff Geesey, Event Coordinator. “We enjoy working with this first year promotional team. They are working hard to provide a top notch facility for both fan and drivers. Potomac's high-banks provide fantastic action with multiple groves giving fans and drivers a thrill”, concluded Geesey.
