Local Author To Appear At Georgetown Speedway By Don Allen Georgetown, De: Laurel, DE native son Chad Culver will be on hand at the Georgetown Speedway for their big Saturday, Oct. 13th event, signing copies of Delaware Auto Racing, his ground-breaking history of motorsports here in “The First Stateâ€. The book, published by Arcadia Press, has sold nearly 10,000 copies since its release in Februa ry. Chad, his father and co-author Wayne, are both avid fans of auto racing in general and dirt track racing especially. They knew how rich its history was in the area and how little it had been chronicled. They set to work with Wayne as the researcher and Chad as the author. Chad also reached out to many local photo and memorabilia collectors asking to use pieces from their collections in the book. The result is a literary time capsule full of racing memories that will capture the interest of even the most casual fan. Mr. Culver will be offering signed books for sale for $21.99 in the pits starting 3:00pm Saturday and will be in the spectator area from the intermission till after the features. He is also offering two copies for prizes in the evening’s 50-50 drawing. If ticket holders don’t win the cash prize they will have two more chances to win a copy of Delaware Auto Racing.
